Kit Features

  • The head can turn up/down on a hinge and rotate on a peg.
  • Torso joint only allows the upper body to rotate slightly.
  • The arms can Swing on a peg-and-socket joint and Raise horizontally.
  • The upper arms can rotate.
  • The elbows can bend up to 90 degrees.
  • The manipulators can rotate on a peg-and-socket joint.
  • The waist can rotate.
  • To avoid interference with the leg articulation, the front waist armor can be raised as a single unit. Side waist armor can be raised slightly.
  • The hips are ball-jointed, allowing it to swivel frontwards, backwards (in a limited extent) or raise horizontally in some extent.
  • The knees can bend up to about 180 degrees.
  • The ankle joints can be bent forwards, backwards, and sideways.
  • Each binder on the backpack can rotate and turn slightly on a ball joint; each lower wing blade can swing upwards/downwards on a hinge.

Weapons/Other Gimmicks

  • The right hand is swappable.
  • The Clay Bazooka, Beam Rifle, and Beam Saber can only be wielded by the right trigger finger hand.
  • Beam Saber hilts can be optionally detached from the rear waist armors as handheld weapons. However, the kit doesn’t include separate beam blades, so the builder will have to use spare beams from other kits.
  • Clay Bazooka can latch on the backpack.

Tips & Tricks

For better results, some details (with an exception of the chromed parts) are needed to be applied/panel-lined with Gundam Markers/Mr. Color paints.

Gundam Information: MSN-00100 Hyaku-Shiki

MSN-00100 Hyaku-Shiki
MSN-00100 Hyaku-Shiki

As Anaheim Electronics developed next generation mobile suits under the Anti-Earth Union Group’s Project Zeta flag during the Gryps War, several design proposals were considered for the in-development MSZ-006 Zeta Gundam. One of these proposals, codenamed MSN-001 Delta Gundam, was retooled when its design proved too difficult to incorporate the transformation systems needed for the Zeta Gundam. The design was revised and then constructed as the MSN-00100 Hyaku-Shiki, although it did retain some features that would later be incorporated in the Zeta Gundam, such as the experimental wing binders mounted on its backpack, which packed extra thrusters and aided in maneuverability. Based on combat data and weapons designs from the RMS-099 Rick Dias and MSA-003 Nemo, plus incorporating data and the revolutionary new movable frame concept employed in the RX-178 Gundam Mk-II, the Hyaku-Shiki (Japanese for “type 100”) proved to be a light, fast and highly agile unit. Its armaments included vulcan guns, beam sabers, a beam rifle, a clay bazooka and a massive support weapon called the FHA-03M1 Mega Bazooka Launcher.

The Hyaku-Shiki was assigned to AEUG ace pilot Quattro Bajeena (the incognito Char Aznable – the Principality of Zeon’s “Red Comet” ace from the One Year War). The Hyaku-Shiki was painted in a bright, highly distinctive gold paint scheme – ostensibly as a taunt to the Titans to prove that the AEUG could build mobile suits right under their noses – and had a reflective, anti-beam coating. During the Gryps War, Anaheim also created two variants: the MSR-100S Hyaku-Shiki Kai, which was followed by a version intended (but not used) for mass production. Char used the Hyaku-Shiki as his personal mobile suit until the end of the Gryps War, when it was heavily damaged in a battle against Axis leader Haman Karn’s AMX-004 Qubeley in February UC 0088. Char disappeared after abandoning his nearly destroyed suit, and a second Hyaku-Shiki unit was later assigned to the troupe of young new pilots stationed aboard the AEUG’s assault carrier Argama during the First Neo Zeon War that immediately followed.

General information

  • Pilot(s): Quattro Bajeena (aka Char Aznable), Beecha Oleg, Mondo Agake, Judau
  • Ashta First appearance: Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam
  • Original mechanical designer(s): Mamoru Nagano (principal design), Kazumi Fujita (cleanup)

60mm Vulcan Gun

A pair of shell-firing weapon built into the head. Though not powerful, its high rate of fire meant it was employed to intercept incoming missiles, etc.

Beam Saber

The beam saber is a small device held in the mobile suit’s hands when operated and is powered by a rechargeable energy capacitor. It emits a blade of plasma contained by an I-Field and can cut through any armor not treated with anti-beam coating. The Hyaku Shiki uses the same beam saber as the Rick Dias, and a pair of them are stored on the rear waist armor, each power rated at 0.4 MW.

BR-M-87 Beam Rifle

The standard ranged armament of many mobile suits, the beam rifle fires a particle beam that can penetrate most armor not treated with specific counter-measures. The Hyaku Shiki’s beam rifle is an improved version of an older beam rifle developed during the One Year War, and its firepower is several times that of its predecessor. Power rated at 2.8 MW, it is powered by a replaceable e-pac similar in design to the one used by Rick Dias’ beam pistol. The BR-M-87 beam rifle is also capable of emitting a beam saber from its barrel for close combat. It has a retractable hook on top of the barrel for mounting onto Hyaku Shiki’s backpack when not in use.

AE/ZIM.C-BAZ-531 300mm Clay Bazooka

The same weapon as used by Rick Dias, the Clay Bazooka was originally designed to fire adhesive rounds which immobilize enemy machines rather than destroying them outright. However, it could also be loaded with other types of ammunition, including conventional explosive round as well as pellet shot round. The Clay Bazooka has 1 round in its chamber with 7 more rounds in a reloadable magazine. A retractable hook is present on top of the bazooka’s barrel for mounting onto Hyaku Shiki’s backpack when not in use.

FHA-03M1 Mega Bazooka Launcher

The most powerful class of beam weapon used by mobile suits. The mega launcher is a large mega particle cannon with firepower exceeding that of a warship’s guns, which draws its power from a built-in thermonuclear reactor. Though mega launchers are equipped with maneuvering verniers, their sheer bulk reduces the mobility of the mobile suits that carry them, and due to their high power requirements they must spend a considerable amount of time charging up prior to each shot. To speed up this recharging process, additional mobile suits can be connected to a mega launcher to serve as energy tanks.

Shield (Nemo’s)

A piece of equipment that increases the Hyaku Shiki’s defensive capability, it could be mounted on the left forearm. It can switch between an expanded state and a collapsed state for ease of use, and like other shields, its surface has an anti-beam coating to defend against beam attacks. Other features of the shield include sharp edges at the top for ramming/striking attacks and latches on the back for mounting other weapons or equipment.

Shield (Hizack’s)

The same forearm-mounted shield as used by the Hizack.
